In this tutorial the artist uses a variety of mediums including, watercolor, pencil, pen, charcoal and acrylic to compose a painting which through male and female interaction and an explosion of colors shows the eternal denial which we as humans possess and take through life with us.
The painting is time lapsed but offers a fantastic insight into how a painting consisting of various layers and different mediums in undertaken from the beginning to the end. The artist begins with a medium sized rounded brush making sure all the major areas of the male face are covered but it is her use of vivid colors and intentional application with the inks and watercolors which allow the painting to take form very quickly. Further dousing with a larger sized round brush takes her into the corners and surrounding areas of the male and female face with yet more striking colors which starts to tie the painting together with marvellous consistency and intention.
She achieves her finer detailing through the use of watercolor crayons, pencil crayons and pen but it is the way she keeps her style loose and breezy by navigating evenly around the page which allows for her painting to retain a feeling of completeness. This is a great tutorial to learn from and a fine example of how a whole wealth of mediums can come together in harmony with the right application and composition.
