Califonia sculptor Adam Reeder shows via this time lapse sculpting tutorial how the eventual form of the human head can be achieved in clay in under 50 minutes.
Watch as Reeder goes back and forth on key features slowly building up the cheek and head whilst at the same time maintaining and adding detail with his trowels to the eyes, nose and mouth. Clay is a very manipulable substance so it’s easy to go back and amend errors, the hard part is actually having an eye for detail the first time around and be able to move onto the next section which Adam so excellently does.
Trowels, knives, spatulas and his own hands were all used here so be sure to make sure you have the right kit to get started with. Enjoy.
