This short video tutorial shows the sequence in which this particular artist uses to achieve a misty forest with breaking sunlight. He begins with the background using a selection of brushes to manipulate the acrylics keeping them a nice soft shade. He then comes on to the foreground where the darker colors are used to contrast with the hazy backdrop and give the impression of a misty morning. Narrated throughout, so easy to understand.

I have studied art for most of my life and would easily say that it was my number one passion. I appreciate everything surrounding art but I gear most of my efforts towards anatomy and the human form. I believe there is nothing more beautiful and rewarding than being creative to produce art which does the human figure justice. I hope you enjoy my portfolio and if you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me. I also travel the world whilst maintaining this website in the hope to broaden my horizons and discover all the different types of art around the globe.
Thanks for this marvelous painting – i love it so much!! I have copied it a few times and have some problems with the background: the cobaltblue and the yellow together get green. How do you prevent this? Thanks for your answer and greetings from germany 🙂

Usted pinta hermoso. Its like you read my mind! You appear to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with a few pics to drive the message home a little bit, but instead of that, this is great blog. A great read. I will definitely be back.

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your sharing your expertise like this. It has helped me so much. I am trying to use your techniques with ;painting my murals but I’m really struggling with having the same effect on a wall as it is on a canvas. The paint dries so fast that I have so much trouble blending it on such a big wall. Still, it has really inspired and helped me since I have never had a lesson. I just began painting murals in every room in my house. Thank you so much!

You’re truly awesome. I wish to be like you. Thank you for showing us how to do your work. But still, it’d be nice if you could be slower the camera a bit on detailed part, like the grass, it’s hard to see how to do that since you skipped it a lot.

Apart from those nice litte anecdotal sterios, one of the benefits of reading an established artist’s blog is that the ‘the making of’ sequences are far more interesting than those found in contemporary art books.I’m sure you all know them, they have titles like ‘Learn to Paint Horses and Daisies in 1 week’.I think that looking at making-of’s is something we artist all love to do. Somehow we are able to ‘read’ and thus learn from those sequences in a way that ermm, ‘normal people’ could not. I guess that’s why it’s so important that not only the information in art teaching books is vital, but much more the accompanying art.No, honestly, I’m not trying to give a hint here ! The book debate has been closed long time ago, this is just observation.Another observation I share : when you switch to a job that allows you to be in town between 9 and 5, you get to see a whole different kind of people. The ‘normal’ ones are all in their offices, so what’s left is old people with sterios, young mothers and indeed weird people. The latter often called artists.

If someone were to look at this painting, they’re probably think it’s extremely hard and complex to do. Our brains comprehend it as if it’s something that looks impossible to do, but then when you watch someone actually paint, it makes sense and could actually be pretty easy with practice. Thank you for the video!
