Lian Quan Zhen: Using Chinese Techniques For Your Watercolor Technique

Artist Lian Quan Zhen  shows you in this video how to introduce Chinese painting techniques into your watercolors to allow you to loosen up and paint more freely. Armed with only watercolor brushes, paper and paints, Lian explains how to use the materials to bring in the strokes and style of Chinese brush painting. After painting a few small studies designed to get you comfortable with the techniques of spraying, blowing, spattering, finger painting and using your brush in new ways, Lian moves on to paint a pair of ducks in a sunset-filled pond combining traditional and Chinese watercolor techniques. Hopefully by the close of this video you’ll be able to create gorgeous, spontaneous pictures, and most of all know how to have fun while you’re painting.

    1. I think his approach is great for a beginner like myself who is so accustomed to drawing tight specific detailed linework in pen and ink and pencil. I can see how ths method would instantly tae me out of my comfort zone and FORCE me to flow and go with the process.

    2. I’m so glad I stayed with this video instead of prejudging the technique, which is sooooo easy for us artists to do when we are taken out of our comfort zone and introduced to something new. This is so Zenlike inits approach and simplicity! I can’t wait to try it!

Network internet marketing is when you use existing buyers to reach out and locate other prospective buyers and future clients. Assemble a crew of spokesmen who speak remarkably of your organization, and obtain them talking to everybody they know about the great things about your merchandise. This is the ultimate model in networking success.

    4. This is just the preview which is why there is not much actual content. I’ve seen a few of his full videos and they are great! I find that most artists are actually more than helpful and love to share their techniques, actually.

    6. a major barrier to young artists is in transcending their intellectual understanding of the world. The color of objects is determined by the properties of the light that reflects off of it.Grass does not always appear green to the trained artist’s eye that is willing to see what is actually there as opposed to forcing an assumption that things must always be the color their predetermined-intellect tells them they are.
