This is a nice quick and to the point video tutorial of how to draw clothes on the female form as a conceptual fashion drawing. The fashion designer in the video has the lady’s figure already pencilled out and she then simply draws her desired fashion garment over the top. This is where the eraser comes out and certain areas are taken away to put the emphasis on the garment rather than the female. An encouraging and easy to follow video for anyone to watch.

I have studied art for most of my life and would easily say that it was my number one passion. I appreciate everything surrounding art but I gear most of my efforts towards anatomy and the human form. I believe there is nothing more beautiful and rewarding than being creative to produce art which does the human figure justice. I hope you enjoy my portfolio and if you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me. I also travel the world whilst maintaining this website in the hope to broaden my horizons and discover all the different types of art around the globe.
1.) To be a fashion designer, you should know how to sew your clothes, in order for it to be sold. It’d be hard for you to make a profit without the clothes and just the sketches.2.) As a beginner (if you are one), it would be fine to use regular pencil and pencil colors. The design/ outfit is what matters and it’s also what we’re after. ^^

wow, you people give up pretty easy. Keep on trying, you can surely draw it. Most designers don’t draw a very realystic figure of a person, so it’s not as it seems. it’s just to show your idea. 🙂 today i’m going to sew like…my second clothe ever, so wish me luck 😀 (i hope it’s not a total disaster)

What is innovative? i bealive that every one that love to draw put his characteristics in that drawing and dresses and so on so everything is innovative, if you make a dress similar od same, it will still have some freshness cuz its made by a different person, so for start you can emitate and just keep practicing and lots of work, till your “dresses” get your touch and characteristics of you…that’s what they mostly teach you at art school…
