Beautiful realist study of a male life model’s face for Kassan’s art class in NYC. Sped up to replicate the actual two hour study you can see where Kassan begins with very crude dark block filling with his charcoal. He introduces finer detailing with the charcoal and then the pencil. The face quickly takes shape and you begin to admire just how good he really is. His final touches include the use of a white pencil for highlights and tints to bring out some of the key features. A pure class video on how to draw like a realist.

I have studied art for most of my life and would easily say that it was my number one passion. I appreciate everything surrounding art but I gear most of my efforts towards anatomy and the human form. I believe there is nothing more beautiful and rewarding than being creative to produce art which does the human figure justice. I hope you enjoy my portfolio and if you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me. I also travel the world whilst maintaining this website in the hope to broaden my horizons and discover all the different types of art around the globe.
Thanks, I’ve been asked by a few folks to do a painting DVD, but not sure I would have much to add to what is already out there. One of my students filmed this randomly and I thought I would play around with the clip for fun.
