Donna Young is featured on ArtBeat on OPB in an interview about her colorful, stunning paintings
Donna is a graduate of Burnley School of Professional Art in Seattle, WA (1976), and has exhibited constantly and received numerous artistic awards. Her visions of nature have resulted in exhibitions in major corporate headquarters as well as having earned a strong following among private collectors and celebrities. Her landscape pictures are bright and colourful and show Donna’s love of the colour red in her pictures. She wanted to paint pictures that would inspire other people and allow them to see pictures through different eyes. Donna herself has had many challenges in life, she was deaf as a child and had severe allergies, fortunate for her though her hearing came back at the age of 12. She did produce fine art pieces like sinks with very detailed tiled pictures, but was diagnosed with arthritis and could no longer continue. She then discovered that she could use chalks and then paint and that is when her painting took off.
She works very hard spending most of her day painting or drawing pictures in her sketch book to refer to at a later date to transfer to a larger scale. She has found a niche market by painting the way she does and the use of her colors. A good example that every cloud has a silver lining or in Donna’s case a red one.
