Amy Pearce: How To Paint Aspen Trees

Here you will learn in a step by step fashion how to paint aspen trees on to canvas using acrylic paint. Artist Pearce begins the painting by applying a few large horizontal blends with a 4 inch brush to set the mood for the upcoming trees. Then using a natural sponge she dabs reds, oranges and yellows on the upper and lower tiers of the painting to create the illusion of leaves and florals. It is then time for the trees using a selection of different sized brushes. Follow the video and within hours you will have something really quite soothing to hang on your wall. This video is ideal for the beginner artist.

    1. sorry did you use water color or oil ? cuz i thought if you painted by water color you had to put the water layer before you put the color on ? 🙂 I’m having the water color project for art class this week and i wish i could make it good like this lol. it looks awesome though

    2. My point is she has a mind of her own and is surely mature enough to make her own individual decisions. One has enough ‘warnings’ from our criminal governments who are as we speak deciding our very future at the illegal Bilderberg Group which is against the Logan Act. They are already spraying us with poison to reduce the population so I think her wearing gloves is not going to change a lot if that’s all we have to worry about.

    3. Our ‘long term health problems’ are as a direct result of vaccines, fluoride in our water, GMO, chemtrails, microwaves, radiation TSA machines, smart meters, hormones in our meat and mercury laden ‘energy saving’ MANDATORY light bulbs one needs a hasmat team to dispose of, to name but a few. I hope you understand the point I was trying to make. Peace to you.

    4. umm. again okay.. in regards to this painting vid, i was referring to the health problems caused by exposure to metals in paints like cadmium or cobalt etc. i don’t know how you connected that with government stuff with a painting instructional vid.

    5. Now we have come full circle. YOU were preaching here to start with, preaching a young girl to be ‘careful’, just like governments do, rather than leave her to make her own decisions. So stop preaching and allow people to live their own lives. Bye.

    6. eh not really. i’m glad you just graduated from middle school an just discovered alex jones, but its no excuse to go on an irrelevant tirade about gov’t issues. i was just saying in a friendly way to wear gloves cuz cadmium poisoning is a long term issue with painters. you are obviouly not a painter otherwise you would have figured that out.

    7. It’s acrylic…oil need’s more time to dry and you can come and blend it after is dry if you want…if you want paint to dry quickly and not to blend after is dried, but allows you to pain over it (like in this painting) you use acrylic…

    8. It’s acrylic paint, water base paint. I can assume the surface she painted on didn’t move so it’s likely canvas board. As she said after each stage she lets it dry. This is all well explained in the video.Hope this helps

    9. I painted it this afternoon.. Looks spectacular (Thanks Amy, you’re a great teacher too!)I painted it using Acrylics and it looks very much like hers. Especially given the drying time she refers to throughout the video, this is definitely my belief. 🙂

    10. I absolutely LOVE the colors you used to paint aspen trees, it would really brightens the room if I had this! You made it look so easy to do this, lol! You ought to do more paintings like this and it’ll sell well. Keep on painting with such colors as this!
