Amazing Street Art In Ink/Acrylic Mix

Acrylics, Advanced, Ink, Painting | 20 Oct, 2012

This art video clip was actually found on www.stumbleupon.com and features a street artist sitting down producing various landscapes in what appears to be a mix of maybe inks or acrylic paints.

From memory the artist designs direct to his sheet of paper a monochrome landscape using only a 2 inch brush and a kitchen knife to stipple, scrape and blend to achieve his finished painting. The whole process took 6 minutes and the final painting is extremely realistic. Have a go yourself, whats the worse that can happen!?

    1. detailed and realistic looking pieces are usually only expensive if they’re old, the modern day art industry wants something that is unique to each artist so that its worth “more”. thousands of artists can draw and paint like this, but if they each produce non representational art, it’d all be different. which is why its priced higher… think about it from the industry’s point of view, they need to make money, not lose it

    2. what I was also aiming toward was that this guy could have potential with this skill as many other similar artists who don’t have the opportunities to strike some wealth whereas those other artists who just took buckets of paint and splashed them onto a piece of paper then call those whatever they want.

    3. It looks awesome yes, but sadly it’s probably just a product of mass production.. So it has basicly no artistic value.. :(And he probably practiced this exact painting over a 100 times, so it’s only techical and memorisation skill.

    4. I don’t see how “memorization” alone can motivate you to rage-paint pictures that come out of nowhere for a dollar, istead of e.g. delivering pizza or ironing shirts or just begging… This guy’s urgency to paint is art.

    5. It’s not memorization alone offcourse, he has some talent to. But this is not out of nowhere.. This sort of pictures a created by lots of “Street artists” in tourist places, and then when they see them for the first time the think it’s original and buys it. Then they walk down the street and probably sees the exact same painting on 3 other corners… I fell also fell for it one in egypt :/

    6. Victor I feel really sorry for you that you fancy yourself an artist or an art critic and you can’t see the skill and self-expression in this. But for those of us that appreciate this, let us appreciate it. Call it fooled if you will. “Those who danced were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music” Let us listen to our music in peace, I hope you hear it some day too.

    7. While the picture looks superb, it hits me more as a photo than a painting. His biggest skill is painting with that speed. But the paintings he does are all the same. Hes more a performer than a painter. Specifically the one on the right side at the start of the video is 90% identical. He probably practiced a lot. But the pictures are not the real art here. The performance of their creation is the art.

    9. It’s not a well-paid job cause it’s called a performance art, to entertain people. How do you think he’s just asking 15$ per his own art? You just being narrow-minded like you’re a billionaire. The artist wears well. That means he’s just drawing for fun!

At least I founded a foundation and helping people as much as I could.

    12. I know??? It scrapes away beautifully (regular kitchen knife, looks like), has a nice gloss…could be ink or oil paint except that it somehow miraculously doesn’t get everywhere…he touches it and it doesn’t smudge?? Magic paper, I guess….who knows 🙁

    13. Wow. I didn’t see the scene until he turned it upside down. He reminds me of a guy who was the opening act for the Roches one night back in the 80’s who created a canvass image of Jimi Hendrix using paint on his hands but without touching the canvass. He basically flung the paint. I’ll definitely be sharing this video. Thanks

    15. YOU SO ARE NOT FROM GOD! this boy is gifted, but u wouldn’t know, cuz gifts come from god, and u don’t know him. So don’t go knocking at Jesus’s door, begging to get in, saying: “But jesus, didn’t I do great works in your name?” jesus would say: get away from me, you hypocrite fool!

    16. Shut up. This “art” looks like a butt wipe. Go ahead and buy some..gift it to a friend and see if they hang it in their home. Yuck. Liking this guy’s art is not a prerequisite for entry into heaven. Go fall off the curb.

    17. There’s lots of artist irregardless of race or background that will never get the attention and press they yearn for… It would be like saying if everyone was a millionaire, who would clean the streets, who would pick the produce, who would build the buildings, etc.. All we could ever hope for is the best in our lives, and when something doesn’t work out, you try something else that might work out for you… It’s wall to wall artist in Time Sq, NYC not everyone will make out… Food for thought

    18. That is just pure racism. This guy is not neglected because of his race, but rather his surroundings, and as far as I know, he’s an Asian kid in an Asian country, It’s not my fault he’s not famous, as a matter of fact I’m actually promoting this kid by watching this video. To accuse “Caucasians” AKA “White people” of promoting our own race is ridiculous, and extremely racist.
