Sam Boeger: Dexter Painting

Acrylics, Advanced, Airbrush, Ink, Painting | 07 Sep, 2012

Sam Boeger takes on TV personality ‘Dexter’. She tapes off areas and splatters red acrylic paint to look like blood and reflect his personality as a killer. For the face, she then moves on to using black ink in her airbrush to get a life-like result. And as I’m sure you’ll agree the result certainly isn’t a bad one. Great skills.

    3. @Samboeger Yeah, I’m going. We’re gonna have a big display set up. It’s gonna be my first time going, I just moved to Vegas in January to work at Counts. I’m pretty excited. I’ve wanted to go to Viva and the SEMA show for several years. Anyway, if you are ever in Vegas, stop by the shop. I would love to meet you, I’m a big fan of your work.

    6. Since you are a super fan of my creation I thought I’d drop by and say hi. Yes Jeff Lindsay stole my serial killer from me in 1997. I was in process in copyrighting him but next day I was hit by lightning that made totalyl forget the previous day for 15 years until last month.I contacted my lawyer and he says my statue of limitatiosn will run out in 3 years. I will strip Jeff Lindsay of his copyright and make him look like a total fool to the world. This is not a troll post it is truth.

    7. I almost never comment, but i did some searching and wound up here Sam Boeger: Dexter Painting | Watch Art Video Tutorials Online for FREE Artisan HQ. And I do have 2 questions for you if you don’t mind. Is it only me or does it give the impression like some of the remarks appear like they are coming from brain dead folks? 😛 And, if you are posting at additional sites, I’d like to follow anything new you have to post. Would you list of all of your communal pages like your Facebook page, twitter feed, or linkedin profile?

    8. Your reply reminds me of the PBS painters workshop on how to paint. The 60 year old will talk to teh viewing audience like they are 3 year old: Ok now we take teh little brush and touch the surface to make a a happy cloud! yes thats it!

    9. Subscribing to your channel is one of the best things I’ve done as far as airbrushing. I’ve been airbrushing for over twenty years (I love Iwatas too), but I always like to watch other artists at work in my off time. Not only is your painting top notch, Sam, but your videos are ALWAYS artfully done. Please make more of them! Here’s hoping to see some new stuff from you soon!

    10. I don’t even watch Dexter but I saw an awesome peice of art beginning to happen in the thumbnail so I clicked on it. I was not dissappointed. I loved what I saw. This was really good. I tried to do airbrush once before and I messed up so bad. The paint got EVERYWHERE!! lol. You have easily earned yourself another subscriber.

    14. Anyone who thinks that art supplies are inexpensive does not know the cost of art supplies. I work exclusively in the drawing medium; graphite pencil, black colored pencil and colored pencil on paper, Bristol vellum and Illustration board. Photorealism, or Hyper-Realism. Even a smaller work (24″ x 19″) can cost in excess of $300 to produce, and that is getting a 30% discount on all of my supplies because I only purchase from one shop. And then there is the cost of framing, shipping, etc.

    15. Very clever use of music and unrolling the brushes! I nearly died laughing!!! LOL… + Your art is so beautiful!!!!!!. And great hand control, Sam.Can you please tell us which size micron brush(es) you used for his eyes and throat? And what model air-brush, please? e.g. It looked a bit like an Iwata HP-B Plus brush, but the writing on it seems to say KG, or maybe RG on the side? Very grateful if you can please.Hugs
