    1. @trianamiamor Medium is a liquid solution that is applied to either a painting structure such as a canvas or to the paints themselves. Medium has 3 basic functions. (1) Ease of transferring paint from the brush to the canvas.(2) assist paints to blend together, (3) Consistency. Thin paints sticks to thin and vice versa. medium thins paints for this purpose. Popular acrylic mediums include water, gesso and acrylic specific medium.

    3. @trianamiamor One of the biggest problems using water is it leaves bubles which dry and leave small craters in your painting. As such, many artists and students will use medium specifically manufactured and designed for acrylics. Some are called ‘flows’ as opposed to medium and acrylic retarders can be used as medium. In any event one should always have a small fine mist spray bottle around.to keep paints and painting while while painting.

    7. @trianamiamor There are a lot of videos that show u how to prepare oilpaints and how to mix fleshtints and stuff. i must admit, using acrylic is very comfortable cause it drys quick and u can easaly clean ur hands and brushes. only the real pros know how to prepare oilpaint. i tried oilpainting once lol it was very thick so i mixed with cooking oil and water 🙂 the result was very nice and shiney, but im afraid it will never dry while im alive. so yep back to acrylic for me 😉

    12. There isn’t anything wrong with long drying times for oil paintings. Drying time varies with the type of medium, weather (humidity) and paints you use. I’ve often seen paintings dry in 3 days to six months. It just depends. You need to have primed canvas. I generally prime my canvas with either white, black or grey gesso. But you can use acrylic paints. Linseed oil is often used in making painting mediums. Modified linseed oil for water-based oils.

    14. I use the wet-on-wet techniques, so I start painting and can finish the entire painting in one setting. In this event, there’s no waiting between coats. If however I don’t finish a painting and come back to it and its dry, I just wet the areas I wan t to paint with medium and continue.

    16. Most oil painting take a minimum of 3-4 days when using normal oil painting medium. If using fast drying mediums or a drier like Japan Drier or Cobalt, you can easily see that your painting dries in around 24 hours. Again, that depends upon how much drier you use. The Chroma ‘lean’ medium generally takes 24-36 hours.

    18. Now if you’re using a ‘fat’ or slow drying medium like the Bob Ross Liquid White or Alexander Magic White this could take anywhere from one week to six months depending upon the weather. So this is one of those questions where the answer is, it depends….. What are you painting with ….

    20. Is it true that it’s better to use a raw orange acrylic paint than to mix red and yellow? from what i’ve heard mixing acrylic colors would slightly decrease their saturation, like mixing red and yellow acrylic paint wouldn’t be as vibrant as an originally orange one. Is this true?

    21. This all could’ve been said in less then 5 min. Too long video about repeating same stuff over and over again. It’s like my land lord at his 75, he would tell the same story on the every first of the month when I drop the check

    23. I spend a minimum of 10 minutes applying Magic White to my canvas just to ensure that I have proper coverage and that only a very thin layer has been applied. If things don’t go well in the beginning of a painting, they aren’t going to go well later in the painting.
