    1. I agree, you have a pretty smile. Cursive is being phased out of US schools. Apparently, neat handwriting is not a skill anymore. I disagree with outcome-based education as opposed to generating an interest in learning and self-improvement.

    2. @applejaksenpai Hi, in my lowly opinion, both ways are great. Ink stick is the traditional way; it is quite time consuming, but you have better control of the ink consistency/thickness and the process is can be quite therapeutic and “ceremonial”. I actually prefer using premade ink, especially when I am stressed for time and want to quickly practise calligraphy for 10 – 15 minutes.

    4. I’m learning kanji (up to 820 so far) and I like writing them, so I wanted to learn calligraphy too. This is a helpful video.It helps that I already know how to write them with correct stroke order with a pen, now I need to learn how to write them with a brush and make them look good. 🙂

    5. Thank you for sharing. I just bought a beginers little came with a small ink stick and a brush hat was about maybe 4 inches long. But I had to get it to try it out. Found your vid here and well wish me luck I have to try this thank you
