    1. Painting is about learning all the little technics, then combining them all together to create the picture, Bill not only puts passion unto the canvas, but uses that passion during his explaination of the process, as always, excellent tutorial Mr Alexander.

    2. I’m a huge WW2 history buff. Recently found out this guy was a nazi soldier during world war two, and started painting professionally after he was captured by the Americans. He started off painting portraits of American officers while being held prisoner. Those lucky ones that got painted never knew what they had.

    3. he just advertise (like here other artist/painters do) where you can get instructions or classes n his technique. It is true that he is a ‘little different’ but that is because he wasn’t born here and he was ‘the old ways’ NOW THIS TECHNIC (wet on wet) IS HIS AND ONLY HIS… the others were his students some of them had taken the credit for it, like Bob ROSS.

    4. during WW2 in Germany or …(other near countries) there was not a choice to be or not a soldier. You did what they told you to do. Some of them (and specially some officials) did terrible things. But you can’t find guilty -criminal – every German or…of that time period.

    6. YES I DID, since I saw Bill A. -his television lessons- in 1972-73 and I love it. Some time later 1980′ or 90’s? Bob Ross appear on TV. Bill said on TV he had been his student (Bob) I know they had a little problem with each other when Bob R. try to say it was his method (after he took classes from Bill) and tried to get the credit for it.

    7. He gave Bill credit in the early episodes while using Alexander products but later on would make remarks about his (Ross) painting technique . I don’t know if he really meant it or just a figure of speech since he had his own line of products by then . I’m a fan of both though .

    9. I have been trying to remember the name of Bill for about 10 years. I’m in my 40’s and watched Bill all the time on PBS before cable TV. I was about 12 or so and would just laugh at how easily he painted. I used to think his name was Van Dyke Brown as I loved the way he said it. I really miss those days and Bill was so wonderful to spread his gift to us. Thanks for the posts.
