Aboriginal Art By William Sandy
This is an absolutely gorgeous and inspiring piece of aboriginal artwork by aborigine artist William Sandy.
From a pavement in Alice Springs Sandy works onto a large rectangular sheet of textile with a series of oval lines painted on with a medium sized paint brush in black paint. Traditionally they would have mad their own paint by crushing wheat and water together and that would have been applied with various sized sticks.
His painting is titled ‘Emu’ and what is applied to the canvas is a series of circles in a variety of colored paints from light blues, greens and yellows which are then accompanied or rather embodied by thousands of pointillist style dots of paint. The finished result really is very striking and even though the art video is time lapsed you can imagine the hours which have gone in to creating this authentic aboriginal artwork.
